I'm goin' on a journey.....of a sort!

Hello Friends,

I am embarking on a serious journey.  Starting today I am detoxing for the next two weeks.  Some of you know, if you've followed me long enough, that I am a chronic pain sufferer and I've been on pain medication for the past 10 years.  I no longer have health insurance, which means I can no longer afford the cost of my pain medication (upwards of $1,900 a month just for just one of the many prescriptions I take).  I will be back to blogging regularly by the 18th of June, with only one posting around the 11th, as I intend to participate in the fabulous link party hosted by Castles, Crowns and Cottages.

The post I intend to have by the 18th will announce the beginning of my 5th Blog Anniversary giveaway, which will be the last sculptural giveaway of the year, so you might imagine that it will be spectacular.  Don't freak out, I will still have more giveaways coming, just not of the sculptural type, and next year I hope to continue with more sculptural giveaways.

Please forgive me for not getting around to all my dear friends during this time, but I won't forget you, and when I'm feeling better, I hope to be back to visiting all of you regularly once again.  I would like to ask you all to keep me in your prayers as this is a most difficult journey and being the big whining crybaby that I am, I am sure to be making my dear hubby miserable.......please say some prayers for him as well.

God Bless, and I hope to see you all soon,

Big Hugs,
Meri

Meri, I'll SO be thinking of you! I also have zero health insurance & have to work every possible MINUTE to pay my medical expenses in - gasp - cash. It's HARD! I'm on one med ONLY and I literally HAVE to be on that. But it's not horribly costly! I hope you make it easily through the detox! Sending you GOOD THOUGHT & HUGS! Kai

I wish you nothing but blessings and good luck. You can do it! I will miss seeing your pretty things you make but take good care of yourself! I, too, am on that journey, I have to loose 50 lbs so I can have a knee replacement. So far I've lost 10!
Best wishes,
from me and Ms. Wilma

Meri, I lived with chronic pain (post a botched surgery) for 21 years. Three years ago I went for acupuncture, I'm a new woman! Let me tell ya, I didn't believe it would work...oh me of little faith...it did. Something to consider, in the meantime, my prayer list has your name on it.

I'm sending prayers and wishes for a good result from your detoxing. I will never understand the pharmaceutical world. In 2 years your meds will probably be sold over the counter at Walmart for 1/10 of what they are now. Is there some way to get some financial help from the drug companies themselves? I know that some people have gotten help that way.
Take care...I'll be checking back on you.

Good luck to you..but I have a suggestion. If you have Walgreen's drug stores near you, they have a prescription drug plan. For $25 a year, you can get MANY prescription drugs for $4 a month..the price applies for 3 month prescriptions, so you wind up paying $12 for the 3 month period. I used this when my Cobra ran out and while I waited to go on Medicare. You just need to ask your doctor to prescribe the medicines that are on the list. I will be praying for you because I truly understand your battle with pain!

Dearest Meri,
I will be thinking and praying for you as you take on this huge commitment. I have been on a journey to improve my health over the past three months. I've seen a lessening of pain and feel more hopeful than ever.
I do hope you begin to feel better and that your pain decreases.
Heartfelt blessings and thanks for sharing your journey, my brave friend!
